Brand Expands

Five New Members Join the Team.

Managing Partner Troy Cox and Chief Creative Officer Mike Rainey are proud to announce the addition of five new members to the Brand Society team. While not everyone was lucky enough to get a window office overlooking the Mississippi River, everyone and we mean everyone, can hear the calliope from the Steamboat Natchez.

“We’re always looking for both experienced and emerging talent that are good people, too,” Troy said.

According to Mike, “We’re adding some amazing people and The Society just keeps getting stronger. Like the rest of us, they just want to do what they love in the coolest music–food–culture–people city in the country.”

Art Director Gage Burke

Before following his heart to New Orleans, Gage Burke worked at Interbrand Cincinnati, handling big-name brands such as P&G’s Bounty, Charmin and Puffs, SC Johnson’s Windex, and many MARS, Inc. brands including Greenies. With his love for packaging design and restaurant branding, he’s right at home here at Brand Society.

Graphic Artist Jonah Judice

A recent LSU graduate with a BFA in graphic design, Jonah has discovered that he’s passionate about branding and typography. “There is something about solving a problem with purposeful concept and design that is really satisfying,” he said. “I feel like I am getting a lot of different tools in by tool belt, and love learning and growing as a designer.”

Social Media Manager Mei Ellis

Also new to Brand Society is Mei Ellis, who graduated summa cum laude from UNO with a degree in film. Before joining the team, Mei had stints at Online Optimism and NCIS: New Orleans. For two seasons, she worked in the NCIS: NOLA art department where, among other things, she assisted in editing and created graphics for video and print use. She also got to tag along on location and on art-related scouts.

“Once, the pyrotechnics team showed me how they rigged the set to appear to be bullet-ridden using remote-controlled explosives,” Mei said. “That was a particularly cool day.”

Social Media Coordinator Hannah Rote

Like Jonah, Hannah has a BFA in Graphic Design from LSU. While Brand Society is her first job post-graduation, she did internships at Lamar Advertising Co., Where Y’at Magazine and dexinsINTERACTIVE. Check out Hannah’s personal food blog @thechubbychild on Instagram. It’s amazing!

Social Media Coordinator Kristin Selle

The most recent addition to our team is Kristin Selle. Kristin graduated from LSU in 2020 with her BFA degree concentrating in photography. Along with two years of graphic design school and internships managing social media, Kristin has worked as a professional photographer for 225 Magazine and several other publications. “I have a passion for creating content that celebrates brands, tells stories, and captures life’s most important moments,” Kristin said.

Southern Cane

Brand Society’s portfolio includes Southern Cane, the only sugar that is 100% Louisiana grown, milled and refined. Pretty sweet client, don’t you think?

Sixty South Salmon

Sixty South Pure Antarctic Salmon, harvested out of Porvenir, Tierra del Fuego, Chile, hired Brand Society to help promote their pure salmon from the icy cold waters of the Antarctic. This sustainable resource is antibiotic free and uncontaminated by any farms. What’s more, it’s delicious.

Port Orleans Brewing Co.

Our client Port Orleans Brewery Co. threw us a little extra business during Mardi Gras for their Bacchus Brew. You gotta love this city.

ISRC United Nations

In 2019, the International Sustainable Resilience Center and The United Nations Economic Commission recognized Brand Society as agency of record to help coordinate and support efforts by the Center in disaster recovery and resilience worldwide.

Huge Ass Beers

If you can’t do great work for Huge Ass Beers on Bourbon Street, shame on you. We had huge ass fun promoting this iconic New Orleans brew and picked up a Bronze Telly for our efforts.

Downtown Development District

At Brand Society, we love working in downtown New Orleans and were pleased when the Downtown Development District chose us to develop their demographic profile report.

Cornet Bar & Restaurant

On the corner of St. Peter and Bourbon Streets sits Cornet Bar & Restaurant. Here you’ll find the best balcony on Bourbon and some great history. The owners have ties to New Orleans’ favorite son Louis Armstrong. We took home a Bronze Telly for this little online video.

Cho Thai

When Chef Jimmy Cho of Banana Blossom decided to open a new Thai restaurant on Magazine Street, BRG Hospitality asked us to come along for the ride. Cho To Go made life in the age of Covid-19 almost bearable.

A Child’s Wish

For more than 38 years, a Child’s Wish of Louisiana has granted wishes to terminally ill children and their families. They chose Brand Society to implement their full branding initiative which included a new logo and an about us video.

Huge Ass Cantina

We may have overdone it for the launch of Huge Ass Cantina, but we were in the French Quarter for tacos, burritos and cervezas the size of your head. That’s our excuse and we’re sticking to it.
